Happy Last Day of School {yesterday}

It is finished... the school year has finally come to an end! Words cannot express the huge weight that was lifted off my shoulders as that last bus pulled away. I literally lost  it, all I could do was cry, lift my hands and thank God that it was finally over, that he had finally set me free. Yesterday I finished 10 successful years in education but I also finished the worst year of my career. But they say what doesn't kill you makes you stronger and the bible says that God will not put more on you than you can bear and I now know that to be true. There were days I didn't think I would make it, when the thought of walking into that building made me sick to my stomach and I know on those days, He was my strength and he got me through.
Me and my Girls
Here's a photo of me and my girls on the playground yesterday. See the one, yes one bus in the loop? Yup, busses were 15 minutes late yesterday... what's up with that? My girl Dione will leave us to teach 4th grade at another school. She came to us as an aide mid year and after talking found out my mom and her parents grew up in Rocky Mount, NC together, small world. But we still have summer school to laugh and fellowship together before a new school year separates us. My girl Adrienne is the BEST TEACHER EVER! Every time I walk into her 1st grade classroom I'm amazed, she's a great mother, teacher and friend.

So after a celebration at Firebirds yesterday I came home and crashed. I managed to pull myself together today and me and the hubby went to see 22 Jump Street and have lunch. Then I came home and crashed again, I'm just waking up from a 4 hour nap. Tomorrow's Father's Day and my husband will be ushering at church and I'll be working in the nursery. He made reservations for us at P.F. Changs for dinner. Looking forward to a stress free and relaxing summer with family and friends.

  3. I just want to tell you that I've stalked your blog since I began my teaching career (career change) almost 3 years ago, and it's really given me hope, especially last year, my first year teaching 3rd grade, and in a new County, and with a new curriculum. Many experiences you went through this year, was my life last year. You inspire me! Thank you and God Bless You Richly!
